Wait and see
I bought this game on day 1, as I was looking forward to play this Star Wars world settled equivalent of BF1942 serie.
And I got severely disapointed.
It looks like the game release was rushed, probably to align it with SW Trylogy DVD release, which result in a promissing but unfinished product hitting the market.
For one, but to me MAJOR reason; totally desastrous multiplayer interface.
At this point, few weeks after release, even though 1 patch was released, it is still quasi impossible to reliably join multiplayer games. Why? No one would tell, 8 of 10 times joining fails, 10 of 10 during map switch you are kicked off.
That is when using the ingame multiplayer interface; trying to use external software aka GS, ASE or XFIRe doesnt help either.
There is simply something wrong with this game and folks from Lucas Arts didnt feel disturbed by that when releasing the game.
Nevertheless I still got hopes linked to that game, but for the moment it just lays on my bookshelf, till Lucas Arts fixes this flop.
I suggest to wait and follow some forums for news; do not spend yet your hard earnt monies on that game.
A bit dodgy
This game has some nice features that enable you to some things you always wanted to but never had the opportunity. i.e. fly those cool republic drop ships. But the game play is far from complex. I didnt like the way each side would start up a game with a certain number of reinfocements that are just like lambs to the slaughter. it just doesnt let you feel like your making any difference. It could have been much better if there werent so much mindless, unrewarding battles with little thought gone into them. Good for a laugh and all but in the end the uninvolving gameplay just makes it seem pointless (well that could be said for a lot of computer games!)
its not CoD....
Nope deffinately not Call of Duty!
But if you want some mindless violence, much runnng about and trying out the many and various vehicles - then this is a great way to waste time. I have found the scenarios rather simplistic but still good fun and playing on-line is better (assuming you have plenty of bandwidth).
On the plus side you get to shoot at JarJar Binks :)
This is a great game if you always thought that the stormtroopers had the better uniforms.
