tif 2004, better than fifa
This is football 2004 is a very good game. Instead of fifa you dont always have to pass though the defence you can knock the ball in front of you and skin the last man with a bit of pace or use L1 and L2 to perform effective skill moves. The graphics of players are good and the game in general is very realistic. You can give away free kicks and maybe even get booked for such things like, Hand ball, Deliberate dive and obstruction when the keeper is taking a goal kick. Also when you late tackle someone the way they fall over is very realistic. The only downsides are no player runs and you get booked too easly.
The TIF series is in my opinion one of the best football sims ever as although its graphics are nowhere near the quality of games such as FIFA 2003/2004 you will do well to find a game with better controls. As the controls for PES are too real (and in my opinion rubbish as to turn 90 degrees you must turn at least 4 times) TIF's controls are great. The Database of players and teams is the biggest in its genre and it is also the only football sim to feature a career mode in which you stsrt from a lowly school team and rise up throough the leagues to become champions league contenders. An utterly class game a must have for footy fans
TIF 2004. Under-rated.
So finally TIF 2004 is on the way. After playing every other PS2 football title, the TIF ones seem the best by far. They always offer the best graphics (yes better than FIFA). It has great, smooth gameplay also. On the subject of gameplay, FIFA are advertising the 'off the ball' function, which was already on TIF 2003. The transfer market system is perfect, allowing the player to make bids for all players in pounds instead of needless 'virtual points' as in PRo Evolution.
For an unknown reason, 'Team SOHO', the game developers, choose to release TIF 2004 over 4 months after its competitors have been released. Because of this, it is very unlikely to sell as many games as it is released mid-way through the football season. It is worth the wait however, as this game is the best by far.
PROS:- Stunning graphics (i.e. player facials and stadia), good commentry, mostly all team names and player names etc., superb value for money- just £29.99 on Amazon! Amazing gameplay, with superb ball control and tricks etc.
CONS:- No real team licensing to speak of. You'll have to wait until March 2004.
Overall:- a superb game including the best, and more of FIFA 2004 and Pro Evolution 3. Graphics the best, as is gameplay and the small things like custom team editing and the backing music tracks.
It is hard to find many faults with this game, but by being released so late, it isnt given the chance to do itself justice.
THIS IS FOOTBALL!!
