Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone
Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone is just above average in playstation game world but poor value for money as it was completed in about 3 day's and I am only 10!( all my friends completed it in about the same time!!)
The good points, are that there are excellent graphics and superb sound effects.
They have got the characters down to the last detail (nearly headless Nick, malfoy, professor snape, and lot's lot's more) you can go to diagon alley with hagrid,go to gringott's bank, you can also put Fluffy to sleep with a flute and play chess with giant pieces.
You can go to lessons like defence against dark arts, poisons class and learn spells like the knock back jinx and levitation spells.
There are loads of things to do but you will have to get it and see for yourself. You could easily get away with hiring this game as it's such short game play and spend your precious pennies on the next Harry Potter book.If your a harry potter fan this game will not disappoint you!!
Bad control interface and tiny game, save your cash!
After reading the books, watching the film, it's time to play the game. This game feels very much like it is trying to be all things to all people, and missing every mark. Seems like a really wasted oportunity to me. No maps to show you where you have been, no real challenge - the game play is more spoon-fed than discovered. But, most important of all NO JUMP BUTTON!!
Nice graphics and sound FX do go a small way to making the whole thing more fun. But if you are any good at platform games AT ALL you will see this game completed in a weekend! There really is VERY little to it!
If you love Potter, you are likly to enjoy this game, as it is served up with generous helpings of Potter-esque visual delights. If you are looking for a challenging game in this genre look at Muppet Monster Madness, Bugs and Taz or even The Grinch. The Potter game feels very poor quality, and if it wasn't for the film tie-in I would expect it to vanish into obscurity within a couple of days after its release... Let's hope they do better with the obligitary sequels!
HARRY POTTER & THE PHILOSOPHERS STONE - FANTASTICO!!!!!!
This is one of the best ever games I've come across. It's not just for kids-it's also for big kids too!!!
I have spent hours playing this game and loved every minute of it even though I got frustated at times because I found some areas difficult i.e in the mine shafts, and collecting the three peacock feathers in Ollivanders (was so tempted to blast the bird!).
What's good is that you can save the game fairly frequently so you don't have to go back far at all and complete really difficult tasks over and over again.
You get to play Quidditch against the other teams like Slytherin and there's a live commenatry as you play!
I highly recommend this game. It's fantastic and great fun.
