Better than the 1st
What can i say this is definately one to watch, in comparison to the 1st this is much better in my opinion, its keeps you watching all the way through waiting to see what will happen next, and how things will turn out in the end.
It is quite gory in parts so if you don't like that kind of stuff then this film is not one for you, although its not too bad otherwise it'd be an 18.
If you've never seen the film or the previous one the basic plot is that an accident is prevented by someone who gets a clue as to what will happen, then 'death' is trying to kill all the people off who should have died in the accident.
The special features on this DVD include deleted scenes and alternate scenes, 2 music videos, small playable games, and some cmmentarys from the directors, and cast.
All i can say is you'll definately enjoy this one!
Death With The Pretty Bits In
This really is one of the most fantastic films ever. The first final destination was excellent, it had a great story line, and was very entertaining. I found the second one genuinly funny. The director is a genious, the way all the deaths are played out, and the creativity that comes with them. I laughed all the way through this film, and I think the biggest improvement over the original was the suspense. In the first one, you knew when somebody was going to die. The music added to it, you just weren't sure how. This film, every time, you think that the victim has escaped unscathed, bt alas for them, it is not meant to be. The deaths are much more sudden than in the first, but as always, there's the one perso who is particularly unlucky. Who can forget the exploding computer screen in the origional? The first death in this masterpiece is similar, and you end up genuinly feeling sorry for the guy, until he finally bites the ladder, and you just kick back and laugh. Sequel please.
A good splattery chuckle
It's been a while since I saw the first Final Destination, and I think probably my experience of FD2 was better for it. Very well made and executed.
The pace of the tension and "what's going to happen next" is kept up very well through the film inducing a sense of both fear and "rubber necking" fascination.
All in all, a good giggle and gore fest, though, thankfully not too much dodgy blood splatter - very authentic, even though sometimes unbelieveable deaths.
The DVD itself features 6.1 sound which, thanks to my friends I was able to enjoy - well worth it. The extras are a bit naff though, particulary the alternate scenes, though admitedly, I didn't watch these with commentary. There is an interesting feature on measuring the audiences reactions to the blood fest. Could have been better with actor interviews, funny outtakes etc.
All in all, a good laugh, though not a particularly intellectually stimulating or challenging film.
