Philosophy through ages
The titles on this disk are split into Greek, Roman, Indian, Middle Eastern, Chinese and Modern. The Greek titles are impressive, with most of the works of Aristotle, a fair few on Plato, but also not only purely philosophical texts, but also social commentaries infused with philosophy, such as Euripides plays. The Roman ones are fewer, with notable omissions such as Ovid's Metamorphoses.
I can't comment on the Indian, Chinese and Middle Eastern titles with any real accuracy, however I expected the Hagakure to be in with the Chinese titles (despite being a Japanese title).
With the modern titles, I feel slightly let down. For example, Descartes appeared once in the form of Discourse on the Method, instead of the more popular, Meditations. Nietzsche only had under his name Zarathustra, which I felt was dissapointing.
However, overall, I'm pleased with the product. The way they are linked to an index and you can navigate freely through texts is remarkable. For the price, it's well worth it. A must have for all serious philosophy students, and others who enjoy reading philosophy.
A Must Have For all Those Interested in Philosophy!
British Enclassica Philosophy is a superb title in this stunning range. It has all the major works of many philosophers from Plato to Locke. The disk itself contains the full manuscript of these works on PDF file. This means that they can be searched, printed or simply read for pleasure. These features make this CD perfect for students of philosophy and those that are simply interested alike. I would reccommend this to anyone.
