Not five stars, as I preferred his other writing, however still really funny. Browning writes about the things which everyone thinks but nobody says... Like the times you are in a public changing room and you find it hard to change in front of people you don't know - so everyone tries unsuccessfully to slide their clothes on underneath their towel which is wrapped around their naked body!
The book is full of short (2-3 pages) "How to...."'s in different chapters. It is a really good "in-between books" book - and also you can read one chapter and come back to another later as there is no order, and the chapters do not have to be read together to make sense.
Highly recommended as a gift, or for yourself if you want a laugh!!
Dull, dull, dull
I bought this book off the back of some of the other reviews I read, plus I must admit I found the title quite amusing. However, I can't stress enough how disappointed I am with my purchase.
The small stories/challenges are, in the most part, dull. There is the occasional line or comment which causes a small chuckle, but they are rare. It is mostly mindless rubbish, which may work as a small column in a newspaper where people only read one a day/week, but reading them in a book (more than one a day) will send you to sleep.
so, so funny!!!
I ordered this due to the good reviews, and because it sounded like a daft little book that I might enjoy...
It was sent out (with others in a super saver delivery) yesterday, and arrived this morning. I went home for lunch, and had a quick flick through... and was laughing out loud at the content!!
Not often do I actually laugh out loud at a book, but the sections that I read (how to use a communal changing room, and how to appear taller) were just so funny, I couldn't help it. It earned me a couple of funny looks from my boyfriend, who was sitting next to me, but on handing over the book, he was also highly amused, and impressed with the book.
So, if you're in need of a laugh at some very amusing (and true) factoids of life, buy this book - I doubt you'll regret it!
