    1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star    Absolutley Amazing

This is THE book for you if you have ever considered Christianity, or wondered what it was all about or even if you have lost faith.
It answers all the questions that plagued my mind, and everything fell into place in my heart, mind and soul.

I was born and brought up a Christian, but as a child I had no real in depth knowledge of what Christianity was.
It is not a religion, it is a way of life.
I converted to another faith many years ago, but my heart wasn't in it. There was something missing, something not quite right...

Now I know the truth. And I declare I believe. In Our Father God Amighty, Christ Our Lord and The Holy Spirit which works within us.
There is ONE God, it's a myth that Christianity believes in 3, read the book, it could change your life completley.
    It did mine.

    1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star    CS Lewis at his best

In 1943 England, when all hope was threatened by the inhumanity of war, C.S. Lewis was invited to give a series of radio lectures addressing the central issues of Christianity. More than half a century after the original lectures, they continue to retain their poignancy. First heard as informal radio broadcasts, the lectures were then published as three books and subsequently combined as Mere Christianity. CS argues cohesively for the case that there is a God and that Jesus was his one and only son. This twentieth-century masterpiece provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith.

    1 star1 star1 star1 star1 star    Thoroughly recommended!

This is probably one of Lewis's most famous and oft-quoted works, and for good reason. It is an honest and intelligent - not to mention brilliantly written - examination of the many facets of the Christian faith and human nature: the existence of and belief in God, the Trinity, faith, love, pride, morality etc. Although written during World War Two, the subjects explored still resonate powerfully with contemporary concerns.

I found the opening chapters particularly helpful in presenting a well-argued case for the rational foundations of Christianity, or at least belief in the existence of God. It offers a challenge to Christians to question the intellectual grounds for their faith, and the reassurance that sufficient answers can be found. Non-Christians looking to investigate the rational basis of Christianity, or of religion in general, will also find this an accessible and thought-provoking read.

The book is also an ideal place to start for anyone thinking to dip into the non-fiction works of C. S. Lewis. No book in my opinion gives the reader a better first taste of the prolific author's delicious prose, keen intellect and razor-sharp wit.

I cannot recommend this book more. For the Christian, for the non-Christian, and for the fan of `good books': this is a must-read!
