Setup Amazon Webstore

This setup program will help you initialise your copy of Amazon webstore. Please read through the instructions carefully and enter in the correct information in the boxes provided. In a few moments, you will be ready to start using your webstore.

1. Access settings

A. Before proceeding, please set the following files/folders to an appropriate mode which will allow the script to write/create files in them. (If in doubt, CHMOD to 777)

  4. stats
  5. toc
  6. lang (and contents)
  7. templates (and contents)
  1. cache
  2. /toc/nodelist.txt
  3. /html/toppanel.htm
  4. /admin/pbase.db
  5. choices.php

B. For the purposes of installation, please temporarily CHMOD your webstore folder to a suitable mode which will enable the creation of additional files (if in doubt, use 777).

Please perform these CHMODs before you go any further.

2. Filing system

The script requires the following information in order to run correctly. Please make sure you enter the right details.

Note: Do NOT append a forward slash ('/'), or your webstore will not function correctly. Look at the examples.
Home URL (eg. http://www.mystore.com)

Webstore URL (eg. http://www.mystore.com/webstore)

Full server path (eg. /home/site12/web/webstore)

3. Personal details

The Webstore Administrator must provide the following details:

Admin/owner's name

Access Username

Access Password

E-mail address

A valid e-mail address is important, because you will receive reports reports about activity on your webstore. Your customers may also wish to get in touch with you.

4. Login method

Amazon Webstore provides two different methods of logging in to your admin. If the 'PHP_AUTH' method doesn't work on your site (if you are running PHP as a cgi on your server, it probably won't), you can choose the 'SESSIONs' method instead.

5. Cookies

Your webstore uses cookies to save important information. Before going any further, please make sure that your browser accepts them.

A. You need to set the domain in which the cookie will be available (eg. the underlined part of http://www.mysite.com). Note: Do not prefix the domain with http:// or www., please.

B. You need to set the path in which the cookie will be available on your site (eg. webstore/). Please do not prefix your path with a forward slash. Note: If in doubt, leave blank.

6. Search-engine-friendly URLs
